Fabric weight is the whole story
Two hoodies can look identical in photos and feel completely different in the hand, and the difference is almost always fabric weight, usually quoted in grams per square metre. Lighter fabrics drape well in summer but lose shape after a few washes; heavier fleece holds structure and survives repeated laundering. If the listing does not state the weight, ask before ordering rather than guessing from the price.
The measurements worth asking for
Four numbers tell you almost everything: chest measured flat, body length from shoulder to hem, shoulder width, and sleeve length. Sellers who list only a size letter are asking you to gamble. Paste those four numbers into your order remarks and you give the warehouse something concrete to check against before the parcel ships.
Washing and long term care
Turn printed garments inside out, wash cold, and skip the tumble dryer on high heat — heat is what kills both prints and elasticated ribbing. Heavy fleece sheds noticeably in the first wash and that is normal, not a defect. If a hoodie arrives smelling strongly of finishing chemicals, airing it for a day resolves it; that is standard for factory-direct clothing.
